Salon Supply Basics: Towels And Appointment Books
Salon Appointment Books
Salon appointment books are an essential tool in ensuring that all appointments are met and that you are maximizing your revenue stream by allotting the proper amount of time to each appointment. Clients make, change and cancel salon appointments with great frequency. Some of your best clients are the ones who keep you guessing as to when they will actually show up. An updated salon appointment book will always keep you one step ahead of the game.
A properly maintained salon appointment book can be as important to your business as styling chairs, salon towels , hair clippers, or any other must-have salon supplies. With clients constantly calling to change times and book new appointments, a salon appointment book can easily become your best friend!
Whether it is a first-time client or someone who's been with you from the beginning, setting and managing appointments are perhaps the most important aspects of running a successful salon. Every important relationship in the beauty industry revolves around appointments and delivering services as promised.
Salon Towels
Salon towels must be sturdy and strong, yet gentle on the skin. Buy salon towels by the dozen for the ultimate in savings. You can either consider economy salon towels or the bleach-safe, deluxe salon towels. Do you have a salon that’s just been opened or remodeled with lots of colors? Supplement your basic white towels with some color splashes. Opt for burgundy, green or black salon towels. These rich colors look sharp with the chrome shining on many pieces of salon furniture.
There is a reason economy hair salon towels are a staple for most salon businesses. The chemicals and solutions so necessary for certain services are tough on a towel. That’s where economy towels come in handy. Also, clients in the barber chairs with short hair may not need a thick towel, while customers with long hair may appreciate a little more fluff. The salon stations for hair, tanning, nails and skin care all require various towels. If you are constantly worried about keeping the beauty salon towels washed and a watchful eye on the stacks, it’s time to stock up.

Pop Up Displays: Features To Look For
Pop up displays are the most popular type of portable trade show displays for smaller booths at exhibits. Here are a few features to look for in a pop up display.
Hubs and Struts:
These form the structure of your pop up display. Strength here dictates the amount of force needed to cause a bend or break. Pay particular attention to where the hubs and struts meet. You can tell most of what you want to know just by looking at the construction and knowing a little about the composition.
Channel Bars:
As simple as these may seem, the channel bars are an important part of pop up displays. They represent the most pieces so they can be the biggest part of the setup process. They also create some of the structural integrity of the unit.
Hanger Bars:
These are the stiffeners that make up the top of each panel and are responsible for vertically positioning the panel on the display. Done right they create a specific position for each panel so matching panels line up correctly. There are a lot of different hanging strategies and these are a favorite method of manufacturers differentiating their products from one another: Pins, Magnets, Molded Locators. Truthfully, they all work well. Pin based hangers are visible to the viewer but it is negligible. If you find your customers (or your boss) looking at your hanger bars we would suggest improving the design of your trade show display graphics. There are two ways to produce pop up panels: with the graphic image going all the way to the top of the hanger bar or with the graphic leaving a one inch reveal of the hanger bar.
Cases:
Rotomolded pop up display cases are best. Blow molded use a different plastic that isn’t quite as durable. Having one case instead of two means you only have one thing to manage. Having two cases instead of one means each of the filled cases weigh a lot less, but you probably can’t wrap a removable graphic on them. Benchmarkimaging’s Vision system gives you the option of either 1 or 2 cases and has a graphic wrap strategy for both. Don’t overlook the added value of wrapping your booth case in a graphic and using it as a podium. That is one more efficiency that makes “pop ups” so pop-ular!
Lights:
Lighting will enhance the visibility of your message. This is a frequently overlooked accessory. Research has proven that people’s attention is drawn to the brightest object in their field of view. The marketing translation for this is that your prospects will see your competition before they see you if they have lights and you don’t. Attachments for lights is an issue for ease of installation. The lights for both Pop Ups by Benchmarkimaging.com are specifically made to easily install on our booths.

Tips For Buying Salon Furniture
When it comes to buying hair salon furniture, you should first consider exactly what services you are going to provide. Starting this business alone needs bravery, commitment and planning but the reward is well worth the effort. This business is growing in the field of salon equipment and has a bright future as people will always be in need of it. Nowadays, hair salons are not just for women. It is totally normal to see an adult male sitting in the chair and getting a haircut. Of course, the prices that you will be charging your customers depend on the location. For example, a haircut for women will average about $60 in San Francisco. Women would be your main customers as stats show that the average woman probably goes to a hair salon every 4 weeks.
The furniture in a hair salon makes all the difference in the world for customers. The furniture is the first thing that grabs their eyes and can make them go inside and get a haircut. Of course, the level of service that you provide is even more important but that's another topic. Your responsibility as a salon owner is to have comfortable and stylish furniture for your clients to relax in. People expect to be pleased and taken care of, so if you have old, cheap furniture most of them won't come back and become regulars.
Buying salon furniture on the Internet is perhaps the best choice. There are various different websites that sell furniture and equipment for hair salons. You can find cheap prices on chairs, styling stations, facial steamers, wet stations, massage tables, hair dryers, salon mats, tanning supplies, beauty products on various websites.
Here are a few rules for buying salon furniture:
Rule 1: Make sure it blends with the color scheme and the decor that is being planned. Beauty salon furniture has to be sleek, stylish and the colors should be soothing and pleasant.
Rule 2: Buy furniture that will provide the right comfort when it comes to the different beauty regimes. The bed rests and the chairs should be comfortable enough so that the client can relax and feel good while the process goes on.
Rule 3: Think of the space factor, because good looks simply is not enough.
Rule 4: Last but not the least, think of the budget for the salon furniture.
